Hi, I'm Rap
I've worked at:
I've spent my whole career in recruiting and Talent, and got a little taste of everything so far: startups, corporates, venture building, consulting, freelancing, and now entrepreneurship.
Funnily enough, I started my career doing Campus recruitment (hiring interns!) at Wayfair. Full circle I guess :)
The same problem was everywhere: great students couldn't find great startups, and great startups couldn't find great students.
There's this assumption that you can just "quickly hire an intern" to join and solve an immediate problem, but you quickly realise - it's gonna be almost as hard as hiring for any other role. It's going to take time and resources, from both sides.
Students are sending 100s of applications and hearing back from 3. Founders are spending 10 hours a week on LinkedIn with nothing to show for it.
Both sides are frustrated. I'm building Hisignal to try and change this.
I think a good intern can change the game for an early stage startup. And the right internship can put someone on a path that ultimately shapes the rest of their career.
